Dearest Ummah

This serves to confirm that Gift of the Needy had initially accepted to meet with the Islamic Watchdog Movement on the 17th August 2020, with the Jamiat as the mediator, to resolve issues between both organizations. This meeting was to be attended by Ml. Shaheen Ismail (Present Independent Ameer), F. Magid (Director).

We were advised to also pose questions to the Islamic Watchdog Movement by our senior Ulema, so as to ascertain the veractiy of the said organization, as they also collect funds from the public. Their modus operandi in terms of how issues are dealt with, was deemed as completely un-Islamic by the Ulema. They have subjected their readership to slander, gossip, speculation, and backbiting, which in essence leads people to Jahannum.

Our senior Ulema of this country have expressed their concern over the mannerisms of how the Islamic Watchdog Movement has been dealing with Muslims on social media. They had indicated that they were inundated with numerous complaints from the public about the mannerisms of how this organization, The Islamic Watchdog, have been handling the affairs of the Muslim ummah.

After having sent the questionnaire to the Islamic Watchdog via the Jamiat, they had dismissed it as petty and felt that the questions seemed to take on a "tit for tat" stance. They have stated to cancel the mediation as they felt they do not want to answer the questions posed to them in this mediation process. Hence, we decided the same. Let us be clear, what is good for the goose should also be good for the gander. The public must be made aware that we have handed over our financials to the Jamiat, with a detailed explanation of all the work completed, as we regard them to be a bonafide organisation. We are prepared to meet with such esteemed Ulema at any time to explain anything. We cannot subject the integrity of our Ulema to a one man organization who fails to be guided by the leaders of the Ummah.

We are guided by our seniors in all our affairs and we give the full authority to the Jamiat to speak out on the reputation of the 2 Ulema who oversaw the affairs of Gift of the Needy for the last 4 to 5 years.

The Ulema overseeing the affairs of our organization would like to place on record to all donors who have donated zakaat to this organization, that your zakaat was discharged correctly. We had inundated you with work carried out over the years. Our work will continue with the permission of Allah.

We are accountable to Allah and we seek His approval.
